⛄ Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost Turbo Not Working
Ford Focus RS EcoBoost The same 1.0 EcoBoost can be found in the larger Ford Focus (not in 140hp form), but there’s a wider range of higher-output EcoBoosts available, too. There’s a 1.5-litre EcoBoost with either 150hp or 182hp, while a 2.0-litre EcoBoost can be found in the 250hp Ford Focus ST.
Ford Model: Focus 1.5 tdci. Ford Year: 2015. UK/Ireland Location: Bedfordshire. Posted April 17, 2019. Hi I have a Focus 1.5tdci 2015. The aircon is not working I have topped it up and it shows pressure but the compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. I have checked fuses and they are ok. Is there anything I have missed. Thanks in advance.
Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine was launched in the Ford Focus in 2012, and uses Ford EcoBoost technologies including high-pressure direct fuel injection, Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing and turbocharging to deliver optimised fuel efficiency alongside the power and performance of a naturally aspirated 1.6‑litre engine.
Team work !! I've not had much to do with the 2.0, but have tested and failed the actuator vacuum solenoid on a couple occasions. The 1.0 suffers with P132B and tends to be a failed one way valve in the vac pump, but I'm unsure (without looking) if the 2.0 has a similar vac' layout or not.
The Focus MK2/MK2.5 MK3/MK3.5 Petrol versions do not have a changeable fuel filter. There is only a strainer (with relative large mesh) inside the fuel tank at the inlet side of the fuel pump. This strainer is part of the fuel pump assembly and is not available as a spare part. There also is no changing interval for this part.
The start-stop will start working for a while until it learns that the battery isn't holding enough capacity to function again. The fix is to have a healthy battery fitted by Ford. The cure is to have an uprated AGM battery fitted. I suspect the stock EFB battery fitted to the mk4 was always under spec for the demand.
The fact of the matter is you now require a new engine and you will be extremely unlikely to get anyone to make any kind of financial contribution for the replacement. A brand new Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engine can be bought from Puma Speed for around £1999. They also offer a supply and fit of a new engine for about £2999 but of course you will
She has experienced an intermittent problem where she has experienced a loss of power (turbo not working)and car goes into "limp" mode. A warning light appears with a sign indicating "engine needing service" If she stops and leaves the car for about an hour the car returns to normal operation.

Press hazard lights 3 times. Wait to see the battery light flash on dash (10 seconds roughly) Switch ignition off. It may be that your battery does not have enough charge in it. As an example, we also have a Citroen with Start/Stop, and if below 72-73% charged, the start/stop will not function.
The 1.0 ECOboost has a multistage cooling system with 2 thermostats. It is not uncommon for one of the thermostats to fail on a 1.0 ECOboost. A failed thermostat directly affects engine temperature and if the engine does not reach normal operating temperature it will also affect fuel economy. 1. Quote.

The 3 cylinder ecoboost is a modern, lightweight and compact engine, it is well designed and if properly serviced should last for years, there is no reason it should "give up the ghost" and "it isnt big enough to support the amount of power it uses" does not really mean anything - otherwise stock 1.0L ecoboost engines have been mapped to 150Hp, with no immediate problems
