Sapkowski HATES some of the liberties CD Projekt red took with his characters and setting in the Witcher games. But particularly how they gave Geralt a beard when in the books he hated facial hair. Sap is actually quite despised in the Witcher game community (which dwarfs the book community) for his statements and legal actions against CDPR.
Sapkowski will not follow a story that was written by knock off writers that are inferior to the original content, because he deems himself and his skills as a writer to be superior and rightly so. He is a great writer, and he created the Witcher.
